A Chattanooga man says he was ambushed and shot when he went to his girlfriend's home early Thursday morning.
Police say the attack happened around 2am at 1718 Hardy Street.
According to police reports, Robert Douglas said he was walking to his girlfriend's house when two men with guns appeared and shot him. As he ran to the back of the house, Douglas was shot a second time.
Douglas says he was able to make it back to the front door where he collapsed and was found by police. Douglas said that he did not know who shot him and police do not yet have a suspect description.
Eyewitnesses from the neighborhood say two men were seen running in the area with guns. One had a gun and the other had an assault rifle. Police recovered an SKS assault rifle near the scene.
